Preview: Foscarini at Milano Design Week — September 5/10

22/07/2021

For the 2021 edition of Design Week in Milan – a special year of rebound after the long months of the pandemic – Foscarini presents its creations in two different places and ways.

At the SuperSalone, which opens from 5 to 10 September at the fair facility in Rho, with a novel format curated by Stefano Boeri, Foscarini will narrate the brand and its vision by interpreting its space as a tool to offer a wider audience – for the first time in a live setting, a physical space – a look at the VITE (LIVES) project, created with the photographer, artist and director Gianluca Vassallo and the writer Flavio Soriga.

For sector professionals, Foscarini also presents an installation for the FuoriSalone in its showroom on Corso Monforte – curated by Ferruccio Laviani – to introduce new products and two exceptional collaborations.

The partnership with Rodolfo Dordoni returns, opening up a new period of collaboration between the designer and Foscarini to develop new concepts. Another new relationship is that with the master of light Alberto Meda and his son Francesco. The two new lamps created by these great masters of Italian design will be seen in a preview during Design Week in the ground floor space of the showroom.

Along with the two new items by Dordoni and the Medas, Foscarini celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Compasso d’Oro ADI assigned in 2001 to the Mite floor lamp by Marc Sadler, issuing a new version of the famous model: Mite Anniversario.

In the large semi-basement, the firm will present the new lamps added to the collection over the last 18 months, some of which have never been displayed in a live setting, organized in theme islands with a special installation designed – like the entire showroom – by Ferruccio Laviani.

Visitors will be accompanied in this exceptional itinerary by a photography exhibition that illustrates the VITE project.
